Wine Review: Crosspoint Pinot Noir (3/5 stars)

Crosspoint Pinot Noir is characterized by aromas of cherry jam, rhubarb and stewed strawberries with a faint touch of sage underbrush spiciness. A soft, fruit flavored, spicy wine with layers of complexity makes it an ideal accompaniment to roast duck with dried cherries and veal-based risottos.

This wine generally sells around $12. My friendly neighborhood wine pervayor bought out the entire 2002 vintage, and offered me a case for $60. That's $5 a bottle, for those of you who are mathematically challenged. I would have rated it 4 out of 5 stars based on price, but it isn't quite in the league of the 'good stuff'. Still, it drinks like a $15-20 bottle, and I'm very happy to have it for my 'house wine'.
